Parenting Support

Skills, Support, and Resources for Every Parent

Parenting is one of the most rewarding journeys in life, but it can also be one of the most challenging. No one is meant to do it alone. At Sister Carmen, we offer programs that strengthen parenting skills, build confidence, and create more peaceful homes. From classes to support groups, our goal is to provide a safe space for parents to learn, connect, and grow together. All courses are offered in English and Spanish. There is no cost to attend, and free child care and meals are included as well. Our goal is to make it easy for parents to get the support and connection they need.

Parenting Classes

Our parenting classes give families practical tools while also creating opportunities for connection. Whether you are raising young children or navigating the teenage years, these classes provide strategies, support, and encouragement to help your family thrive.

Nurturing Parenting Program

Nurturing Parenting Program is a 12-week class for the whole family. In this class, parents learn how to understand their children’s feelings, set fair expectations, and guide behavior in positive ways. Families will talk about how to share, how each person helps, how to handle stress, and how to build stronger and kinder relationships at home. The next class begins February 2026.

Families in Action

Raising older kids can be hard. This program supports parents of teens and tweens by giving families simple tools to help young people grow in healthy ways. Parents learn how to guide behavior with respect, communicate clearly, and help prevent risky choices. The class also covers important topics like online safety, bullying, and managing stress. The next course runs the month of June, 2026.

Parenting Support Groups

Sometimes, the most powerful thing parents can do is come together to share their experiences. Our support groups provide a welcoming, non-judgmental space where parents can find encouragement, build community, and continue growing long after classes end.

Circle of Parents

Circle of Parents began as a group for parents dealing with substance use in their families, but has since grown into an ongoing support network for many who complete our parenting classes. Parents meet weekly to share challenges, celebrate successes, and learn from one another in a safe and supportive environment. This program is ongoing and drop-ins are welcome.

This bilingual group is a welcoming space for both Spanish-speaking and English-speaking moms who are pregnant or breastfeeding. You can share experiences, ask questions, and get caring support from others who understand what you’re going through. Each session offers helpful information, tips, and resources to make breastfeeding moms feel more confident. You don’t have to do it alone—come connect and feel supported in your breastfeeding journey.
