Community Leadership & Advocacy Program

Grow Your Voice. Lead with Confidence.

Community members have powerful ideas—and this program helps bring those ideas to life. Sister Carmen’s Community Leadership & Advocacy Program is a supportive, 10-month learning experience where participants build leadership skills, explore local issues, and work together to create meaningful change. Whether you’re just getting started or already involved in your community, you’ll find connection, encouragement, and the tools to lead.

What This Program Is

A monthly, small-group program that helps participants learn about community issues, develop advocacy skills, and work together on a real-world project that creates positive change.

Participants explore how local issues are shaped by policy, identify a shared community challenge, and collaborate on one advocacy project to move a policy solution forward.

  • Learn from community leaders and local experts
  • Understand how policies are created and why gaps exist
  • Explore a community issue affecting Boulder County
  • Choose one policy solution to advocate for
  • Develop practical advocacy strategies (like storytelling, outreach, and meeting with decision-makers)
  • Practice leadership in a supportive, team-based environment

We do not address personal issues or concerns specific only to Sister Carmen. Instead, the group focuses on broader community challenges and systemic issues.

Adults who want to grow their leadership skills, learn how change happens, and make a difference in their community—no experience required.

One Thursday per month, January through October. Each session includes learning, discussion, and a shared meal as a group.

Free. Meals and gift cards are provided for participants.

Applications open annually. Spots are limited.
