Warehouse Assistant Volunteer
Working with our Facilities & Operations Director, Driver, Food Bank staff and other volunteers and work crew to keep our warehouse clean, organized, and manageable
Able to take direction and follow instructions, good at organization, able to lift 50 lbs. with assistance, ability to communicate in a professional manner, and work individually as well as part of a team with others (staff, recipient groups, volunteers)
Tasks and responsibilities
Organizing loading bay and warehouse areas, sorting electronics, helping with deliveries, lifting, loading/unloading trucks, assisting with recycling/trash, break room organization & labeling, basic maintenance, possibly getting trained to use hand-jack, and forklift. Follow safety protocol. Inform staff of any concerns or problems
Training is on the job, and may eventually include fork lift training. Additional support and advice from other volunteers and staff members.

Desire 2 hr. shifts- M-F, or M-W-F
From 9-11:00, + 2:00-4:00pm, full day possible

Help sort food and stock shelves
at our community food bank.
Organize, sort, and merchandise thrift store
items. Sales support our programs.
In spring and summer, help maintain our
organic community garden. Produce from the
garden helps stock the shelves in our our food
bank with fresh organic produce.
Support office staff by volunteering
at our front desk and helping with data
entry projects and filing needs.
Volunteers attend a one hour orientation at which you will learn about our mission, tour our facility, review shift schedules
and complete a volunteer application. Volunteer Groups such as schools or organizations are not required to attend volunteer orientation.
