Volunteer with us!

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer at Sister Carmen Community Center?

The first thing all volunteers must do is come to a volunteer orientation. The orientation takes about an hour. We will discuss the mission of Sister Carmen Community Center, complete a volunteer application, take a tour of our facilities, go over volunteer policies, then determine individual volunteers’ schedules and placement. Please note that court-ordered community service or workfare service hours require a different orientation process through the Thrift Store.

We have several consistent volunteer positions that can be very time-flexible and drop-in. These positions are in the donations receiving area and the Thrift Store. Positions in the food bank are scheduled with the Food Bank Manager and these volunteers come regularly. We also have opportunities for volunteers to help with special projects, community outreach, garden work, and office work.

The availability for all positions occasionally changes but includes weekdays between 8:00am and 5:00 or 6:00pm, Saturdays between 8:00am and 6:00pm, and Sundays between 10:00am and 6:00pm.

Volunteers who are 17 or younger must have a parent/guardian sign a release form. Volunteers who are 13 or younger must have someone who is 18 or older volunteer alongside them.

Contact our Volunteer Manager Ann Huggins for upcoming orientation dates if you are interested in attending a volunteer orientation: (303) 665-4342 ext.×142 or email: ann@sistercarmen.org.

We can always use your time and talents!
